EF Explore America is happy to welcome our travelers back out on the road!
As exciting as it is to have travel back in full swing, it’s important to note that it will look somewhat different than it did during our last full summer of travel in 2019. We’re seeing significantly more travel disruptions than in past years, and we’re hearing from our trusted partners in the industry that this trend is likely to continue throughout the remainder of the season.
While EF does everything we can to avoid these disruptions, here are a few things to keep in mind, and some suggestions for you and your students as you get ready for your amazing adventure.
Before you go
- Please verify your personal information and make sure the name on your ticket matches the name on your identification if you are 18 or older.
- Visit the airline’s website at least 24 hours in advance and sign up for alerts regarding any potential changes to your flight’s departure time.
- Pack light and try to avoid checking a bag if possible. In addition to your EF backpack, one carry-on item can be taken with you on board the aircraft, cutting down on time at check-in and saving the group from headaches with lost luggage.
On your departure day
- Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure, as airports are anticipating longer wait times at the check-in counter and security control due to the increase in travelers and staffing shortages.
- If you experience a flight delay and changes need to be made, the best first step is to work with airline staff at the airport directly. They often have the best, and most expeditious, options available.
- As well, if you experience a flight delay or any other travel interruption, please have your Group Leader call our 24/7 Emergency Support Team at 1-800-503-2323 and be sure to follow the prompts so we can support you and work to make any other necessary adjustments to your tour.
As always, safety remains our top priority. Please visit our Health & Safety page for more information.
