Terms and Conditions

The Explorer Scholarship program is open to students traveling with EF Explore America at the middle school, junior high school or senior high school level living in the United States. Employees (and their immediate families and household members) of EF Explore America, Inc. and its affiliates are not eligible. 

To apply, an eligible student’s parent or guardian must complete the worksheet and submit the student’s original essay answering the given essay prompt. Please visit efexploreamerica.com/scholarship for application deadlines and instructions on submitting all information. 

By participating in the Explorer Scholarship program, you agree and consent that EF Explore America, Inc., its affiliates, agents and others working for them or on their behalf, shall have the right to photograph winners and to use their first name and first initial of last name, picture, likeness, school’s name, city and state of residence(s), any post-tour survey response and essay submission in advertising or other commercial purposes for no additional compensation. 

One application per person. 

The Explorer Scholarship program is ongoing. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Winners will be selected by EF Explore America based upon a grading rubric applied to the entrant’s essay and financial need application. All decisions are final and at the sole discretion of EF Explore America management. Due to volume of submissions received, EF Explore America is unable to inform entrants of receipt of essay. 

Winners will be notified by EF Explore America by phone, email or standard mail. The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. 

The Explorer Scholarship will automatically be applied to the winner’s EF Explore America account. Winners may decline a prize in writing within 75 days of tour departure. Alternate potential winners may be selected at the sole discretion of EF Explore America management. Winners and all travelers must execute EF Explore America’s Release and Agreement, Booking Conditions, etc. EF Explore America makes no warranties with respect to the prize. 

The Explorer Scholarship is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. All taxes on prizes are solely the responsibility of the winners. 

EF Explore America is not responsible for any lost or misdirected entries. Prizes are non-transferable. 

The Explorer Scholarship is sponsored by EF Explore America, Inc. Two Education Circle, Cambridge, MA 02141-1883. EF Explore America, Inc. reserves the right to amend or cancel the scholarship program at any time.
